Viewing & Booking FAQ


  • Viewing in person: Contact us at enquires@ashahouse.co.uk, or by popping into our office between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

    Virtual viewing: We are able to provide virtual viewings via Skype, WhatsApp and WeChat. Please contact us at enquires@ashahouse.co.uk and note which platform you’d prefer.

  • To book a room at Asha House, simply complete the Application Form to let us know more about you and your preferences (which room type, floor or who you’d prefer living with etc) so we can allocate you a room that suits you the best – Don’t worry, at this stage you are NOT tied into a contract.


    You will then receive the Tenancy Agreement to read and sign, once the completed tenancy agreement is returned to us and the initial payment is confirmed, the room is guaranteed and secured for you!

  • Not at all! The Application Form is for us to know more about you and your preferences so we can allocate you a room that suits you the best.

  • To stay at Asha House, you do not need any guarantor.

 

cost & payment FAQ


  • Where you are a UK resident the payment profile is as follows and reflects the dates for receipt of student loans provided to you by the UK Government’s Student Loan Company:

    ‣ First 4 weeks to be paid in advance of moving in
    ‣ Next 40% (after deducting first 4 paid weeks) to be paid by 15th October
    ‣ Next 40% to be paid by the following 15 January
    ‣ Final 20% to be paid by 15 April

    For all other students, 30% of the annual rent is payable on signing the Tenancy Agreement and the remainder by 2 further payments of 35% during the Tenancy Agreement.

  • ‣ By Bank Transfer.
    ‣ Online payment on WorldPay (A unique, secure online payment link will be sent to you with your name and the amount due, on request).
    In person at the Management Office as a Cash or Card payment.

  • There is no administration fee or deposit to pay. However, a one-off, non-refundable utility fee of £150 is required on signing the Tenancy Agreement. This covers all of the cost of your utilities for the entire tenancy. There is nothing more to pay.

  • ‣ Utility bills.
    ‣ Internet (100MB broadband).
    ‣ Individual Content Insurance.
    ‣ TV Licence in the cluster apartment kitchens, studios and 1-bedroom apartments.

  • Each of our bedrooms at Asha House comes fully furnished, and includes:
    ‣ Small-double bed (in Standard Bedroom) / Double bed (in Large, Deluxe, Studio & 1 Bed Apartment)
    ‣ Large desk with 3 drawer under unit
    ‣ Pin board
    ‣ Curtains
    ‣ Over-bed wall light
    ‣ Waste Bin
    ‣ Chair
    ‣ Floor to ceiling wardrobe
    ‣ Large wall-mounted shelving unit


    All rooms are en-suite with:

    The lounge / kitchen is carefully equipped with:

  • Please take a look at our Floor Plans and note the room number of your choice on the Application Form – ‘Additional Information box.’ We will do our best to accommodate.


    * Please note that all requests are subject to our availability.

  • If you wish to live with your friends, each student should complete an Application Form stating that you want to live as a group.


    * Please note that these requests are subject to our availability.

  • Due to insurance restrictions, overnight stays by guests and friends are restricted to two nights per week only and are subject to agreement by the other members of your apartment. We would also ask that you notify the Accommodation Team in advance. Your guests are not allowed to remain in the building without you being present at all times.

    * Please note that you are responsible for the behaviour and conduct of your guests whilst they are on the premises.

  • Any maintenance issues should be reported as soon as possible to ensure minimum disruption to facilities and other tenants. To report an issue, please complete our online Maintenance Request Form. Our team will aim to solve any issues within 24 hours.


    For urgent issues or emergencies during office hours, report the issue to the Management Office directly, and outside office hours, please call 01509 266258 in the case of emergencies.

 
 

Pre-arrival FAQ


  • By Coach: National Express coach stop in front of The Amber Room Bar (15 The Rushes, Loughborough, LE11 5BE), which is about 7 min walk from Asha House.

    By Train: Loughborough Train Station LE11 1EX is about 6 min drive or 18 min walk from Asha House.

    By Bus: There is a bus service, Sprint, which shuttles through the University, Town Centre and Loughborough Train Station. There are also other bus services that can take you around and outside of Loughborough to Leicester, Nottingham and East Midlands Airport.

    By Taxi: There are a number of Taxi Services available in Loughborough.

  • Thanks to the location of Asha House being within a stone’s throw from town centre, we would recommend you only bring the essential items with you:
    ‣ Clothes
    ‣ Bedding (double size) – pillow, quilt, bedsheet and duvet cover
    ‣ Personal toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, towels…etc
    ‣ Coat hangers
    ‣ Cooking utensils: cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs, a pan and pot
    ‣ Your mobile charger
    ‣ UK power adaptor (if needed)

    * Please check our Area Info page to find out more about shopping in town.

    Items not allowed in your apartment:
    ‣ Candles, incense burners, tobacco, vaping or any other smoking device or other paraphernalia which creates smoke (these will trigger building’s the fire alarms)
    ‣ Deep fat fryers and chip pans
    ‣ Bikes and electric scooters (but these can be stored in the bike store)
    ‣ Pets of any kind (sorry)
    ‣ No cooking of any kind is permitted in any bedroom. All cooking must only take place within kitchen areas provided.

  • ‣ Your original photo ID document (Passport / Driving Licence) & a photocopy.
    ‣ Visa and a photocopy – for international students.
    ‣ 2 x Passport sized photographs.

    * Please ensure that you have made all the initial payment required prior to your arrival, as we cannot issue you with keys until all payments have been received and processed.
